Leaders Answer The Call - The American Renewal Project Delivers In White Lake, NC
The We Are The Watchmen Weekly Newsletter was blessed to be on site for another stop on the America Renewal Project Tour, as it touched down at the Lake Church in White Lake, NC - home to our friends, Pastor Cameron & Tiffany McGill.
Today, we’re excited to share video of the speeches from North Carolina Lt. Governor Mark Robinson, Pastor & Bladen County Commissioner Cameron McGill, as well as Pastor & State Representative Neal Jackson.
In a recent edition of the newsletter, we discussed the responsibilities that the Lord puts on us as a remnant, what’s required of those who answer the call, and the promise that he makes to us if we stand.
As we see in Ephesians 6:13-15:
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
And also in Philippians 1:27:
27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.
When we submit and faithfully follow, the Lord also shows us what we have in store:
And in 2 Chronicles 20:17:
17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’”

“Is The Camera On? Because I Know This Is Probably Going To End Up On Television… But I Don’t Care… Because It’s True!”
Lt. Governor Mark Robinson must have known that We Are The Watchmen was ready… and, yes, Mr. Lt. Governor - it’s right here in the newsletter, word for word.
Prior to that golden quote, Robinson asked a very practical question:
“How many of you are Dallas Cowboys fans? How many of you are Pittsburgh Steelers fans?” asked Robinson.
“You know fan is short for fanatic… the young guys who go out with no shirt and half of their body painted in -20 degree weather in Cleveland to root for the team… what do they get for doing that? Nothing… except maybe being able to brag that their team won.
But do you know what those same people call the 65 year old mom of 5 who goes to church on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and again on Sunday?”
“A fanatic.”
Robinson went on to remind the audience of the root of the issue.
“We are being dictated to in this nation by the godless!” exclaimed Robinson.
“Godless people are putting things into our imaginations… in our minds… in our politics… in our schools… and even in our churches… that are turning this nation and this world upside down.”

An Old Testament & New Testament Story - Foundation & Action Steps From Pastors Cameron McGill & Neal Jackson
“What’s happened in our latest elections… is that there’s not been a great group of righteous candidates… by the way, if you don’t have righteous candidates, you’re not going to have righteous elected officials… and if righteous people vote, good luck on what you’re going to get,” said McGill.
McGill went on the tell the story of Daniel 5 and the spiritual drought we are experiencing, and then the story on the parable of the Good Samaritan.
“You might think you’re here today by chance or by happenstance, but I believe that you and I here not because we had an appointment with the American Renewal Project for lunch, but because you and I had a divine appointment with almighty God!”

Pastor Neal Jackson closed out the event, pulling everything together.
“You know what’s going to prepare you to be faithful in office?” Jackson asked.
“Just be faithful where you are. Nothing will prepare you for tomorrow like being faithful right where you are.”
Jackson also didn’t pull any punches on what happens when you do the Lord’s work.
“Expect opposition,” said Jackson.
“His (referencing David, in the bible, in dealing with Goliath) own family criticized him. Goliath distained him… Goliath said ‘Am I a dog that you come at me with sticks?’ And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. ‘Come here,' and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals…’
Expect opposition!”

Pulling It All Together
In our observation, The American Renewal Project tour stops force attendees to do two critical things:
a) Understand exactly where they are in history, and how dangerous of a time this is if we continue to abdicate our leadership role in culture;
b) It convicts them that entering public service - or supporting those that have the calling on their life - is the way forward.
As we close, here are 3 things for you to remember… and to share with others… as you digest the speeches from this event:
Remember who’s in charge.
As the Lord tells us in 1 Samuel 8:5-9:
5 They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.”
6 But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord.
7 And the Lord told him: “Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king.
8 As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.
9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.”
Remember what happens when we don’t remember who’s in charge.
When the church body ABDICATES (abandons or renounces) leadership, we are no longer the moral compass for the culture, which leads to the society that we see today.
As we are told in Isaiah 3:12:
12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
Remember who we are.
When we cede territory to the enemy, we forgo our responsibility to be the Salt & Light this immoral world.
As we are told in 1 Peter 2:9:
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
It’s time to get to work!
