“We champion the symbol of Lucifer as representing revolt against arbitrary authority and oppression, advocacy for the pursuit of knowledge and reason, and sympathy with the scapegoat and the downtrodden…”
This was a direct quote from a piece in the Minneapolis Star Tribune this week, referring to yet another Satanic image on display in or around a government building, under the guise of “religious parity.”
This story comes on the heels of our coverage last week of the baphomet statue in New Hampshire:
“The Satanic Temple has once again taken steps to provoke believers and promote their dark agenda.
As reported, a Satanic statue was unveiled near a Nativity scene in New Hampshire, a move that clearly demonstrates the ongoing rise of spiritual warfare and the increasing boldness of the enemy in this age.
The article reveals that the statue, which depicts a serpent coiled around an apple, was placed just a few feet from the traditional display celebrating the birth of Christ. From the article in The Christian Post:
"The unveiling of the statue was accompanied by a ceremony held by members of the Satanic Temple, who argue that their religious beliefs are being suppressed in America."
The serpent, with its clear biblical symbolism, harkens back to the very same lies spoken in the Garden of Eden. This deliberate twisting of the sacred with the profane is a tactic employed by the devil himself, to pervert the message of the Father and sow confusion among the faithful.”
Since our coverage on this story, for the second time in less than two weeks, the display put up by the Satanic Temple outside the New Hampshire Statehouse has been vandalized. From WSAZ TV:
“Corinne Stanley says she watched a man in sweats trash the statue.
‘I mean, he seemed intent, at the very least, to destroy it, to tear it down,’ Stanley described. ‘It takes a lot to bend a flag pole over your knee, so he was quite angry.’
Commentary: We Are The Watchmen Weekly does not condone damage to person or property.
That said, this “angry man in sweats” is that way, because he understands scripture:
In Ephesians 5:11:
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
And, Jesus showed us the way in Matthew 21:12-13:
And Jesus went into the Temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the Temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of them that sold doves, and said to them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
What’s equally concerning, is how many people are actually running to the defense of satanists. We’ll take a look at that in a moment.
A disturbing trend is gaining a foothold: supporting and defending demonic statues. From The Star Tribune story:
Minnesota is not the first state to display satanic imagery in its Capitol – Iowa and Illinois have done so as well. The groups behind the effort are generally nontheistic or atheistic organizations who troll religious conservatives and use Satan as a vehicle to promote religious skepticism and satire, civil rights and the separation of church and state.
And from the WSAZ story:
‘There are people around here who aren’t willing to allow people, such as myself, to express my religious views and the religious views of countless others who want to be able to celebrate and believe in what they believe in,’ Satanic Temple member Bear Saxby said.
‘The fact that a manger is a-OK, but a small little tiny statue of Baphomet that’s one-20th the size isn’t?” member Brandon Noel asked. “Not kosher’.”
When the Father - and the word - are not at the center of someone’s life, evil has free reign to twist minds.
We were warned about this in Exodus 20:3-5:
Thou shalt have none other gods before me. Thou shalt make thee no graven image, neither any similitude of things that are in heaven above, nor that are in the earth beneath, nor that are in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down to them, neither serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God.
And Habakkuk 2:18-19:
What profiteth the graven image, that the maker thereof hath graven it? The molten image and the teacher of lies, that the workman maketh images, and the dumb idols? Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake, and to the dumb stone, Rise up, it shall teach thee.
While protests in Minnesota over the display are encouraging, the fact that movements like these are gaining traction (including the satanic temple creating a system for remote abortions with “ceremonies”) and being given voice are dangerous.
This is a direct result of the Church abdicating leadership in the culture.

A reminder: It’s more important than ever before that we remain vigilant in the word of God. We’re seeing a “full scatter attack” from Satan where thing, after thing, after thing is being thrown at us in an effort to demoralize and confuse us.
DON’T LET HIM DO THIS. This means we’re closer than ever before to God’s glory and Satan knows this is his last chance.
