But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand. - Ezekiel 33:6

Each week, we dig deeper into the stories that matter most and connect the dots with scripture.

The Body of Christ: Each Part, Doing Their Part - Sharing The Good News About The Good News!
In scripture, we’re told that when the body of Christ comes together, everything is possible.
As we are told in Romans 8:28:
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
And in Romans 12:4-5:
4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,
5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Living out these scriptures has kept the team at We Are The Watchmen Weekly very busy behind the scenes, and we’re proud to finally announce that:
We Are The Watchmen Weekly is now the OFFICIAL NEWS SERVICE for The US Christian Chamber of Commerce Newsletter!
“When you put the Father’s business first, everything comes into His perfect alignment,” said publisher Julianna Ormond.
“We’re excited to be working with Krystal Parker and the great team at the US Christian Chamber, and we’re excited to share more incredible announcements moving forward.”
Homework: This week, focus on making Proverbs 16:3 your guide, and encourage those outside of the walls to do the same through your testimony when you do:
3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
In honor of our great partnership with the US Christian Chamber of Commerce, we’re going to walk you through the “good news about the good news” that we shared this week. Up next...

The Good News… About The Good News!
When covering difficult topics happening around the world today, we also believe it’s important to report on our victories as well, because God is using them (and us) to glorify His name.
We see this throughout scripture as well.
17 no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.
And in Deuteronomy 20:4:
4 For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
With this, we wanted to share the “good news” stories of the week with you:
California County declares American Christian Heritage Month, Not all residents are happy.
The Key Takeaway: Christian warriors are standing strong in places we might not expect.
In California, Christian principles rub many the wrong way.
The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors’ decision to designate July American Christian Heritage Month, which sparked opposition from some residents, has now drawn protest from a national organization that promotes the separation of church and state.
Editor’s Note: The separation of Church & State was actually designed to protect us from a state religion… like the one the pilgrims left England to get away from.
These brave souls not only took the action, but made strong statements for Christ. They understood the assignment, as we are told in scripture:
In Joshua 1:9:
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
And in Daniel 3:16-18:
16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter.
17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand.
18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Homework: This is a POWERFUL story to share with everyone, and not just because of the bold stand. It’s also an opportunity to show people how Satan uses weak vessels to steal, kill, and destroy.
2. The Ark Encounter tops list of most popular attractions in Kentucky.
The Key Takeaway: In early 2020, the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum were voted by readers of USA Today as the top religious museums in the United States out of 20 options chosen by travel experts.
The team at the Ark Encounter are doing great work in helping to fulfill the great commission, as we are told to do in scripture:
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Homework: What a great story to share in casual conversation! When you do, ask questions like: “Why do you think it’s so popular?”
3. NBA Star Jonathan Isaac Launches Faith-Based Clothing Company.
The Key Takeaway: “I do see this as something that is bigger than me,” Isaac said during a Q&A portion of the launch. “And so, for that, I have to give glory and honor to Jesus Christ.” He asserted that “true greatness is found in none other than Jesus Christ” and that one should not base themselves on “world standards.”
You may recall that Johnathan Isaac was the NBA player who chose to stand for the National Anthem during the “take a knee” controversy.
He also has a strong commitment to his faith in the Lord, and his words are valuable ones to meditate on.
As we in scripture, in 1 Peter 2:21:
21 To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
Homework: Get up to speed on Jonathan’s story, and then share it with as many people as you can.
4. Illinois College to Pay Christian Student $80k for Silencing Conservative Views.
The Key Takeaway: "Public universities can't punish students for expressing their political and religious viewpoints. Maggie DeJong, like every other student, is protected under the First Amendment to respectfully share her personal beliefs, and university officials were wrong to issue gag orders and silence her speech."
When you take a stand for the Lord, and you’re committed to it, He ALWAYS has your back.
Maggie DeJong’s story is tailor-made, by God, to show His power and how he will not be mocked.
As He tells us in scripture:
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Homework: This story provides great talking points for discussions with academics, or even young people still in school. Discussions about freedom of speech and expression being protected is a great way to cut through the polarization that we see today.
Pulling It All Together: There’s so much good news to share that as believers, we have no excuse to not be bold and joyful. Get to work!
