The Church of England is boldly embracing heresy, pushing a doctrine that distorts the Bible and opens the door to spiritual destruction. A recent campaign group has released guidance claiming that the Bible not only affirms transgender and queer identities but that it also supports a radical redefinition of gender.
This article argues that “not everyone in the Bible is cisgender,” and promotes the delusion that the Bible contains “queer characters” such as eunuchs and women defying traditional roles. This is not just a misinterpretation of Scripture; it is a direct assault on the Father’s truth and a deliberate effort to lead the Church into darkness and confusion.
Scriptural Insight: The Bible Condemns Gender Confusion
The Church of England’s embrace of this LGBTQ+ agenda is not just misguided, it is a direct challenge to the Father’s Word.
The guidance claims that eunuchs, described in Acts 8, are “biblical ancestors” of trans people and that their inclusion in the Church shows the Father’s affirmation of gender fluidity.
This is a gross misinterpretation of Scripture, twisting it to fit a modern agenda that rejects the Father’s creation order and sacred design for gender.
Acts 8:37-39 clearly demonstrates that the eunuch's worth before the Father was not based on his gender identity, but on his faith in Christ. The passage says:
"And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him."
This passage is about salvation through faith in Christ, not a redefinition of gender. The eunuch’s transformation came not from a change in gender, but from a new identity in Christ. The focus here is on faith, not gender.
To hijack this passage and use it as an endorsement for transgenderism is not only reckless but a perversion of the gospel itself. The eunuch's inclusion in the Church is a message of the gospel’s power to save anyone, regardless of their past or physical traits, but it is not a divine endorsement of gender confusion or an excuse to redefine the Father’s design for humanity.
Jesus and the Samaritan Woman: Not an Affirmation of Gender Fluidity
The guidance also claims that Jesus’s encounter with the Samaritan woman in John 4 suggests that she was “intersex,” implying that Christ somehow affirms this as legitimate. This is another glaring example of twisting Scripture.
John 4:10-14 records Jesus offering the woman living water, focusing not on her gender but on her soul’s need for redemption:
"Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water."
The conversation between Jesus and the woman is not about gender identity or affirmation. It is about spiritual salvation and the living water that Christ offers to all who seek Him.
The focus is on the woman’s need for eternal life, not her gender or any confusion regarding it. To twist this encounter into a validation of LGBTQ+ identities is a deliberate misinterpretation meant to lead people away from the gospel’s true message of redemption.
Deborah: A Woman in Leadership, Not a Case for Gender Confusion
The guidance then points to Deborah, a female judge, as a “queer character” because she led Israel into battle, a role traditionally held by men. This is a prime example of taking a biblical narrative out of context and twisting it to fit a modern, politically correct agenda.
Judges 4:4-9 shows that Deborah was appointed by the Father for a specific purpose:
"And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment."
Deborah’s leadership was not about rejecting her identity as a woman but about fulfilling the Father’s purpose for her life.
The Father raised up Deborah as a leader, but her calling and leadership came within the context of her being a woman. The Bible affirms that men and women both have important roles to play in the body of Christ, but it does so within the framework of the Father’s created order.
This is not a justification for gender fluidity, nor is it a signal that women should step into traditionally male roles at the expense of the Father’s design for man and woman. It is a testimony of how the Father uses people, regardless of their gender, to fulfill His will.
The Harmful Consequences of Rejecting Biblical Gender Roles
The claim that the Bible affirms LGBTQ+ identities is not just wrong, it is profoundly dangerous.
Romans 1:24-27 warns us of the destructive consequences of rejecting the Father’s natural design:
"Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another."
This passage warns of the severe consequences of turning away from the Father’s created order.
When humanity rejects the Father’s design for gender and sexuality, it leads to spiritual decay and moral corruption. The Church of England’s embrace of gender confusion and LGBTQ+ ideology is a step into spiritual darkness that will lead to destruction if not repented of.
We cannot allow this kind of moral confusion to take root in the body of Christ.
The Church’s Call to Stand Firm in the Truth
The claim that the Bible affirms these ideologies is a clear attempt to distort and water down the gospel. The Ekklesia must stand firm in its commitment to biblical truth and resist the world’s pressure to conform to these false beliefs.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11 is a sobering reminder of the reality of sin and the hope found only in Christ:
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God."
This passage makes it clear: those who live in defiance of the Father’s natural order will not inherit the kingdom of God. But it also offers hope: the power of Jesus Christ is sufficient to cleanse, sanctify, and justify those who come to Him in repentance and faith. The Church must boldly declare this truth and reject any doctrine that distorts it to fit a cultural narrative.
This is a fight for the soul of the Church. The enemy is advancing on all fronts, seeking to distort the Father’s truth and lead the faithful astray. But we must resist the urge to conform to the world’s views on gender and sexuality.
Instead, we must stand firm in the truth of the Father’s Word, knowing that He is faithful and that His design for human flourishing is rooted in His goodness and holiness, not in the confusion and distortion of the enemy.
We are the Watchmen, and we will not remain silent as the enemy seeks to redefine the Father’s Word to fit the culture. Stand firm, hold fast to the truth, and expose the lies that are creeping into the church. Now is the time to fight for the faith and protect the next generation from the lies of the devil.
