When the Antichrist Teaches Antichrist: Peter Thiel’s AI Theology and the Red-Dress Technocracy
He warns that limits on AI invite tyranny. Scripture warns that smooth promises of “peace and safety” are how tyranny sells itself - Read, Share, & Subscribe - WeAreTheWatchmen.org

Peter Thiel has a new claim making the rounds in very influential rooms, and it’s about what you’d expect:
If society throttles artificial intelligence or slows technological growth, that is how you get the Antichrist.
The irony that the Antichrist telling you that the Antichrist will come if you stop him from “innovating” is not lost on us here in the newsroom.
Coming from Thiel though, this is not to be taken lightly.
As Watchmen, we are CALLED to CALL IT OUT.
Thiel ties modern fears and doomsday rhetoric to a political outcome. He says the figure Scripture warns about takes power by stoking apocalyptic dread, then calming the crowd with a promise of order.
He has also told audiences that the slogan is “peace and safety.” If that is how the counterfeit consolidates control, he argues, then the righteous course is to press forward on innovation rather than pause it.
On paper this sounds like a defense of liberty. But in practice, it’s gaslighting… because anyone who calls for brakes can be dismissed as helping the enemy.
Scripture does not treat “peace and safety” as a slogan for progress. It treats it as a warning label.
“For when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction shall come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child, and they shall not escape.” (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
Those words are not seasoning for a talk. They mark a pattern.
With these things in mind, let’s take a look at Palantir, the company that Thiel co-founded, which now has a mega-surveillance contract thanks to the Trump Administration.
Palantir does not sell a theory. It sells a way of seeing and deciding.
Data, models, and actions are mapped into live objects and links.
Decisions are captured as data so that future choices can be suggested or automated.
One of its services, Gotham, is marketed as the field system that turns the integrated picture into operations and investigations.
For clarity: What we’ve just described to you is the idea of pre-crime - convicting you of a crime that you haven’t committed yet, as shown in the movie Minority Report.
Let that sink in for a moment.
There is nothing conspiratorial in that description. It is how the company explains itself.
The outcome, if unbounded, is the normalization of big brother.
This is not built in a day.
It is built one “obvious” integration at a time.
A pilot becomes a standard.
A crisis becomes a precedent.
A precedent becomes a policy nobody has time to revisit.
Against that backdrop, Thiel’s new thesis is more than careless theology. It is a political argument with spiritual dressing.
If the only people who can be trusted to keep us from a one-world authoritarian regime are the people building one-world authoritarian regime, then any constraints on that operating picture will be smeared as naïve at best and wicked at worst.
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Matthew 7:15)
The location of all of this matters as well. In Part 1 of the series, we shared that Thiel’s series on the Antichrist is being done in private, off the record.
Off-the-record theology for elites is not the apostolic pattern. The apostles taught in the open and told the saints to expose hidden works, not accommodate them.
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.” (Ephesians 5:11–12)
The Ekklesia has seen this dance before. The counterfeiter is fluent in the language of money. The liar talks often about truth. The subject of the warning offers to teach the warning. None of that is new.
What is new is the speed and scope of the tools that can move the world behind the podium.
And that presents a CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER THAT THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION SEEMS TO BE MISSING.
Thiel’s influence could align to supercharge AI inside government while publicly warning against central authority. President Trump does not need malice for liberty to shrink. He only needs the wrong filter. If advisors show him speed and hide the quiet cost of normalization, the state becomes complicit by omission.
He will be told the platform connects agencies so they stop duplicating work.
He will be told it catches real criminals faster.
He will be told it cuts fraud.
Yet, what’s not being said is that the control grid is being set up to be delivered in a red dress instead of a blue one, fooling many in the process.
“Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil, that put darkness for light and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20)
The Bottom Line
Thiel’s message is a moral inversion, plain and simple.
He tells the public that slowing AI invites the Antichrist while his company builds the rails for government to become totalitarian.
That is not wisdom. It is manipulation.
The pattern is the one Scripture already warned us about. Smooth promises. Private rooms. Centralized power. The crowd is told to relax while the system tightens.
Don’t pretend this is neutral. It is a bid to make big brother feel like virtue.
Refuse any bargain that trades liberty for calm, period.
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.” (Ephesians 5:11)
