In this week’s edition of We Are The Watchmen Weekly, we take a look at WorldCoin, a new cryptocurrency that includes a “World ID” that requires a machine scanning your eyes.
We will also revisit our coverage on the topic of AI gods & ChatGPT Religion.
The Death March Of Evil - Satan’s Useful Idiots Using AI To Mock God: WorldCoin
Earlier this week, Sam Altman, the co-founder of AI technology ChatGPT, officially launched WorldCoin, a cryptocurrency project.
When speaking about WorldCoin, Altman made the following statement:
If successful, we believe WorldCoin could drastically increase economic opportunity, scale a reliable solution for distinguishing humans from AI online while preserving privacy, enable global democratic processes, and eventually show a potential path to AI-funded UBI (Universal Basic Income.)
Please take a moment to re-read that statement…
Now that you have, here’s the catch:
The project's core offering is its World ID, which the company describes as a ‘digital passport’ to prove that its holder is a real human, not an AI bot. To get a World ID, a customer signs up to do an in-person iris scan using WorldCoin's 'orb', a silver ball approximately the size of a bowling ball. Once the orb's iris scan verifies the person is a real human, it creates a World ID.
That doesn’t sound very “private,” does it?
No, as a matter of fact, it sounds very much like a mark…
To be clear, we’re not saying that this is the mark of the beast, but it is very, very odd.
Here’s what’s equally odd:
The project has 2 million users from its beta period, and with Monday's launch, WorldCoin is scaling up ‘orbing’ operations to 35 cities in 20 countries. As an enticement, those who sign up in certain countries will receive WorldCoin's cryptocurrency token WLD.
At this point, you’ve probably seen enough to give you pause… but there’s more.
Here’s a line of people waiting to get their eyes scanned by one of the WorldCoin “orbs”:
“Day 3 of @worldcoin launch, crazy lines around the world. one person getting verified every 8 seconds now.” - Sam Altman
Homework: There are two key components to having meaningful conversations outside the walls of the church on this topic.
Be clear on what’s happening. This is a BIG leap forward in controlling populations around the world with a dystopian system, which is being celebrated… like a false idol. The Lord warns us about this in Psalm 115:4-5:
4 Their idols are silver and gold, even the work of men’s hands.
5 They have a mouth, and speak not: they have eyes, and see not.
It’s also important to note that the eyes are used in doing this. Jesus speaks directly to our eyes in Matthew 6:22-23:
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.
23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Be clear that the church body must be involved in the process. We don’t have the luxury of just sitting back and complaining. As believers, we must be involved in the process. As we are told in Matthew 5:13-16:
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
We should be leading the way in the forum of ideas on AI, who is creating it, and what it’s doing specifically.
As our co-publisher RC Williams shared on The Sentinel Report With Alex Newman, “Should Christians be involved in technology? Absolutely 1,000 percent yes.”
Church, come out of your slumber… it’s time to get to work!
Did you realize that even something like a solar flare can knock out your electronics? Or kill your car?
Yes, you could be partying like it’s 1859 in the snap of a finger…
Yikes.
Best to be protected right? But what to do?

“AI gods & ChatGPT Religions” - MAN’S FULFILLMENT OF THE SIN OF IDOLATRY
Words matter!!
Which is why we were careful to spell ‘god’ with a small ‘g’ in the headline above.
We’ve seen rapid growth in the areas of technology, to the point that we now see some of that technology beginning to try and think for itself.
And that has led to headlines like this one:
We’re told about this in scripture, in a very clear way, in Exodus 20:3:
Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
That’s pretty straightforward right?
But, mans desire to be God is strong… and that shouldn’t surprise you, if you understand that the earth is Satan’s dominion. We’ll cover that more in a moment.
It’s important to understand the level at which Satan is operating today, as he is working to separate each of us from God, as he did Adam & Eve in the garden. Here’s an example from last week’s edition of Watchmen On The Wall, where we laid out Satan’s attack on women:
“…Here’s a quick example: In the world, we often hear “Listen to your heart!”
Sounds good at first, but what does scripture say? Let’s look at Jeremiah 17:9:
The heart is deceitful and wicked above all things, who can know it?
And now, Satan has taken the mask off completely. As we shared last week (Click Here To Read It), Satan is attacking women with a feverish intensity… because he wants to destroy the MOST SACRED PIECES OF GOD’S ORDER.
Why? Because Women:
Give Life
Nurture Youth
Anchor The Home
And Satan hates it.”
As we see in the news this week, Satan continues to accelerate his campaign of deceiving man:
“INTELLIGENT AI robots are coming - and they will have the ability to perform religious ceremonies and could even turn against humans, experts have warned.
As AI becomes more prominent in our day to day lives, it wasn’t going to be long before the worlds of religion and tech merged.
The thought of robot Gods and ChatGPT sermons terrifies some people - and rightly so, according to experts.
Wesley Wildman, Professor of Philosophy, Theology, and Ethics, and of Computing and Data Sciences at Boston University, told The Sun that he believes AI will soon be able to perform religious duties even better than human priests.
He said: ‘AIs will write better sermons than most preachers, give better bible studies than most teachers, create amazing music and visual art for use in services and communications that struggling religious groups don’t have to pay for.’
The likes of ChatGPT have already reportedly found their way into churches, writing thoughtful and authentic sermons on behalf of the priests.
And the listeners were none the wiser.
Wildman explained that AI will have the ability to change everything we know about relationships with spiritual advisers and religious figureheads.
He said: ‘It will be like having your own personal guru you can take with you anywhere.
‘You can confide in it, get advice from it, and learn to trust it to help you figure out complicated moral and spiritual situations.’
Many religious communities have already begun to incorporate robotics into their practices.
One example is the Catholic Church, which has endorsed the use of apps that facilitate the act of confession, according to Wildman.
He even says the Vatican is cautiously encouraging apps that can assist with a confession - but the sacrament must still be carried out person-to-person.
This is ‘partly for convenience, and partly because they’re [people] are trying to avoid human priests,’ Wildman said on the idea of confession apps.
He also believes that this bizarre wave of new AI will be able to simulate deceased relatives, religious leaders and spiritual advisers.”
Hard Stop. There’s a lot to digest here.
Let’s be clear: “AI” is a creation of man, period.
If we understand scripture, we understand that we were born into sin, our heart is deceitful and wicked (Jeremiah 17:9), and we have a sin nature.
And, we’ve created a tool with AI, in our own image, and the majority of people who create it are not believers in our one true God.
Then, that AI is worshipped… as a god.
That’s idolatry. And it grieves God. As he told us in in Exodus 32:8:
They are soon turned out of the way, which I commanded them: for they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have offered thereto, saying, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt.
We’re also told to stay away from such things, in 1 John 5:21:
Little children, keep yourselves from idols, Amen.
And Romans 1:25-27, where we are told about the action of idolatry, and what it leads to:
25 Which turned the truth of God unto a lie, and worshipped and served the creature, forsaking the Creator which is blessed forever, Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature.
27 And likewise also the men left the natural use of the woman, and burned in their lust one toward another, and man with man wrought filthiness, and received in themselves such recompense of their error, as was meet.
Does that sound anything like the world today?
Realistic and powerful AI mixed with religion is nothing new though, there are plenty of Zoom-call sermons and apps that play prayers across a plethora of faiths.
One incredible example of this is the Mindar robot which lives in The Kodaji Temple in Kyoto, Japan.
Mindar is 6 feet 4 inches tall and has been preaching at the 400 year temple since 2019.
But the robot is no ordinary priest - it has been programmed to recite the sacred Heart Sutra, a popular mantra in Buddhism, through mechanics and AI.
The humanoid robot dons a silicone face, and its aluminium body is exposed to temple-goers who worship at the Kodaji Temple.
If you look closely, a camera lens stares out of its blank eyes as it recites the prayer and gazes out over the worshippers.
But Mindar is not alone, Poland also has their own Catholic priest named SanTo, and in China, an android monk called Xian’er recites mantas and offers guidance on matters of faith.”
Let’s meet the Mindar robot:
And, the SanTo Robot:
Now you have man, believing he is God, expressing that belief with the creation of false idols that look, feel, and sound practical to those who are not in the word.
You’ll hear things like this, from those who will try to justify it to you:
“Come on, it’s the EXACT word you get in the bible…”
“It’s not like it’s TRYING to be God or anything. Stop being so crazy…”
“Don’t you feel better not being mislead?”
And that type of “justification” is the pride and idolatry that curses future generations. As we see in 2 Kings 17:17:
And they made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire, and used witchcraft and enchantments, yea, sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to anger him.
And, we also the truth of what you get in building false idols, as we see in Psalm 115:4-5:
4 Their idols are silver and gold, even the work of men’s hands.
5 They have a mouth, and speak not: they have eyes, and see not.
We are in a VERY DANGEROUS time. Satan has largely unmasked himself and operates openly, as he believes that he’s deceived enough people and nothing can be done to stop him.
As he’s always done, he underestimates the power of God, and those who serve him. As you have this conversation with people, share with them the simple and clear scripture that connects these dots. It may be the one thing that they hear that brings them to Christ.
